These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

My favorite band. Ever. Don't you already know?

No, it isn't They Might Be Giants, or Guided By Voices or R.E.M. or The Decemberists or Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. OK, truly I have no idea who my FAVORITE band ever is and I don't even know why I would pretend to know, there are just too too many GREAT bands to narrow it down to just one.

But a band I love very, very much.

The Smiths. I came to love them backwardsly, if that is a word which I seriously doubt. I was a fan of Morrissey and I met this boy who was good looking (loved that long hair, think Robert Smith)and cool(he was a musician) and had good taste in music (The Cure,Dylan, The Smiths, R.E.M,Luna,Material Issue, blah, blah, blah) and he had some Smiths albums and I borrowed them and well the rest is sort of history. I love this band. My parents did play them a lot when I was younger but I don't remember becoming a fan until much later. When they were already done.

Have I ever mentioned that I think I was born ten years too late?

Anyways, here are some of my favorites.

Ok, Ok that's enough.

p.s. The good-looking musician, I married him.

Your parents played the smiths?

Our parents played Kenny Rogers(by the way have you seen that guy lately?) and Neil Diamond. I knew all of the words to The Gambler and the Jazz Singer soundtrack.

Love on the Rocks? Anyone?

My parents played some crappy music too. But luckily my older sister was there with some cool tunes to bail me out.

My dad listened to the Beach Boys and just about everyone mentioned in "Walk Hard." I didn't even think my mom knew what music was until I found a box of her old albums that included the Who, the Beatles and Led Zeppelin.

Man my parents are old.

Are you guys in Virginia? I thought you mentioned that before. If so, hope everyone survived the tornados unscathed.

We are in Virginia but we didn't even know that there was a Tornado until our family in Arizona called and asked if we were OK. We are OK, but slightly sheltered as we don't watch TV and don't know what is going on in the world around us or even the towns around us. Sort of sad.

I guess it was pretty bad though, I have since looked it up in the news online and quite a few homes were destroyed and many people were injured.

By the way, Neil Diamond rules. See "Saving Silverman."

I agree with James, the Diamond does most definately rock.

Also, I must say that we always miss out on the tornados and other cool natural disasters. One day I hope to make it on the five-O'clock news telling of how the twister came and almost flipped our newly remodeled trailer, and how all but one of our chickens got sucked up, and now we call her lucky.
'Cause she is, get it.

Didn't your mobile home get trashed up by a falling tree once?

(isn't it funny that the word "bile" is in mobile home?)
